The Houston Chapter of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) invites you to join us on Thursday, September 10 for our first meeting of the 2009-2010 season.
Please note the following changes for the 2009-2010 season:
Andrew Slaughter will speak on Shell's Long-Term Energy Scenarios to 2050
How can energy markets respond to a period of heightened challenges, uncertainties and demographic/geographical/environmental stresses? Shell's most recent long-term global energy scenarios examine potential pathways for transformational change in the energy industry over the next half-century.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Andrew Slaughter currently holds the position of Senior Economics Adviser to Shell’s North American E&P business and Senior North American Energy Advisor for Shell’s Global Business Environment team. He is responsible for strategic counseling and analysis relative to the North American crude oil and natural gas markets, covering short and long-term supply, demand, price and other regional market issues in support of investment planning and business strategy. He works closely with other Shell businesses in North America to develop a common view of regional energy markets. He works closely with the Shell global scenario team, in particular to deal with North American implications of the scenarios and to communicate the scenarios to North American stakeholders.
Andrew Slaughter currently serves on the Economics and Statistics Committee of the American Petroleum Institute (API); was an active participant in the National Petroleum Council’s 2003 Study “Balancing Natural Gas Policy”, leading a detailed market modeling and analysis team; he served on the 2007 National Petroleum Council study “Facing the Hard Truths About Energy” on the Supply Task Group, in which he led the LNG and GTL workstreams, as well as being a contributor to the main final report; and is a regular contributor to industry forums.
Prior to joining Shell, he worked in energy industry consulting with DRI/McGraw-Hill (now known as Global Insight), based in Paris, France. Previously he was with management consultants Arthur D. Little, also based in Paris.
Andrew Slaughter began his career with Chevron Oil, in a planning and economic analysis role for Chevron’s downstream oil business.
